Leesville Historic District Commission

The Leesville Historic District Commission is a mayor-appointed body of volunteers responsible for upholding the U.S. Department of the Interior’s standards preserving historically designated properties--individually designated structures and those occupying city historic districts. Equal to the commission’s role in upholding regulatory guidelines its mission is to educate individuals (through free workshops, written source materials, and other means) in the restoration of their historic commercial and residential properties. Pride in our heritage, pride in our future--the LHDC works toward preserving and enhancing the city’s unique architectural characteristics and history.

The LHDC holds Public Meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at the Leesville Municipal Center Annex Building. The nine historic district commissioners are appointed for three year staggered terms.
